HEARTY MARINARA SAUCE
1 1/2 cup onion, small chop
2 28 oz. can petite diced tomatoes
1 28 oz. can crushed tomatoes
1 tbsp. first press extra virgin olive oil
1/2 tsp. cracked black pepper
4 plump cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp. water
1 tbsp. tomato paste
3 level tbsp. StarCatcher TASTE OF TUSCANY blend
salt to taste (optional)
Pour olive oil into a non-stick pot. Sauté onion and garlic on medium low heat until translucent. Add water if necessary to keep moist. Avoid browning the onions. Add tomatoes and simmer approx. 30 minutes, uncovered, stirring to prevent sticking. Stir in tomato paste and blend into sauce. Stir in StarCatcher TASTE OF TUSCANY blend. Mix well. Allow to simmer an additional 10 minutes.
Makes approx. 2 1/2 quarts of sauce.
Serve over favorite pasta.
